One of my proudest achievements as project lead was launching the SHIFT (Sustainable Hydro-Electricity for Tomorrow) initiative. With the Honley Village project being a long-term effort impacted by delays, I came up with SHIFT as a way to keep students engaged with hands-on experience and short-term results.
SHIFT involves SheffHEPP collaborating yearly with different local clients, like schools or engineering foundations, to develop functional table-top hydroelectric models for demonstrational/educational purposes. SHIFT 2024 was a scaled-down waterwheel model created for the University of Sheffield’s EEE Department to showcase at open days.
I'll post the highlights of manufacturing I have for SHIFT 2024, however the full folder is here. [removed link due to privacy reasons]
